How to Use Secret Code for Chat Lock in WhatsApp
WhatsApp has bolstered its security measures by introducing the “Secret Code” feature within its existing “Chat Lock” tool. This new layer of protection safeguards sensitive conversations by requiring a unique code to access locked chats. Even if someone gains access to your phone, they won’t be able to pry into your private conversations without the secret code.
This feature is particularly useful for those who share their devices with others or have concerns about unauthorized access to their messages. The secret code serves as an additional barrier, ensuring that only authorized individuals can view locked chats.
WhatsApp’s new secret code feature provides an extra layer of privacy for your locked chats. Here’s how to use it:
Enabling Secret Code

Open the WhatsApp app and tap on the Settings icon (three dots in the top right corner).

Select Privacy.

Scroll down to the Chat Lock section and tap on Chat Lock settings.

Enable the Secret Code option.

Enter a six-digit secret code and confirm it.
Hiding Locked Chats Folder
- In the Chat Lock settings, enable the Hide Locked Chats option.
Accessing Locked Chats with Secret Code

To access your hidden locked chats, tap on the search bar in WhatsApp.

Type your secret code and tap on Search.

The Locked Chats folder will appear, containing all your locked chats.
Additional Tips

You can change your secret code anytime by going to Chat Lock settings and tapping on Change Secret Code.

If you forget your secret code, you can reset it by tapping on Forgot Secret Code? in the Chat Lock settings.

You can still access locked chats using your fingerprint or face ID, even if you have enabled the secret code feature.
