How to Stop Annoying Marketing Messages on WhatsApp Business

When a WhatsApp Business account messages you for the first time, you have a few options to handle it:

1. Block:

  • This puts the business on your Blocked contacts list.
  • They can’t message you directly anymore.
  • They can still see your profile and catalog if they choose.

2. Report:

  • Use this if the business is breaking WhatsApp’s rules (spamming, offensive content, etc.)
  • WhatsApp may take action against the business account.

3. Continue:

  • This means you’re okay with them messaging you.
  • You can also start a conversation with them to officially “opt in” to their messages.
