๐Ÿ“‹ EDITORIAL POLICY

Editorial Guidelines

TechReview.trade is built on one principle: trust. Every piece of content on this platform โ€” whether from our editors, contributors, or brand partners โ€” is held to these standards.

Our Mission & Editorial Independence

TechReview.trade was founded to be India’s most trusted independent tech intelligence platform. We exist to cut through PR spin, vendor hype, and paid placements โ€” and to give India’s 50,000+ monthly tech readers honest, useful, context-rich information they can act on.

Our editorial team operates with full independence from our commercial operations. Advertisers, sponsors, and brand partners have no influence over editorial content. A company paying for a sponsored article does not get preferential treatment in our organic editorial content โ€” and never will.

“We will never publish something we don’t believe is accurate and useful to our readers. Revenue never overrides integrity.”

โ€” TechReview.trade Editorial Team

We are proudly India-first. Our coverage prioritises what matters to Indian tech professionals โ€” pricing in INR, availability on Indian platforms, relevance to the Indian tech market, and context from India’s startup ecosystem.

02

Accuracy & Fact-Checking

All factual claims in our editorial content are verified before publication. We do not publish rumours, unverified claims, or speculation presented as fact. Here’s how we verify:

๐Ÿ”

Primary Sources First

We cite official press releases, company filings, government data (MeitY, TRAI), peer-reviewed research, and direct interviews. Secondary sources are used only when primary sources are unavailable.

๐Ÿ“Š

Data Must Be Cited

All statistics, survey results, and market data must include source, date, and methodology where available. We do not publish undated or unverifiable statistics.

๐Ÿ’ฌ

Quotes Are Verified

Direct quotes are verified against original statements, recordings, or written confirmations. Paraphrasing is clearly labelled. We do not fabricate or embellish quotes.

โš–๏ธ

Balance & Fairness

When a story involves criticism of a company or individual, we make reasonable attempts to seek comment before publication. All parties are given fair opportunity to respond.

Plagiarism Check: All contributor submissions are run through plagiarism detection software before review. Articles found to contain plagiarised content are rejected immediately, fees are non-refundable, and repeat offenders are permanently banned from the platform.

03

Content Standards

Every article published on TechReview.trade โ€” editorial or contributed โ€” must meet these standards. Content that fails any of these criteria will not be published.

โœ“ What We Publish

โ†’
Original, first-published content โ€” not republished, syndicated, or translated from another source without explicit disclosure and permission.
โ†’
Minimum 600 words for editorial articles, 800 words for contributed pieces. Thin, low-effort content is rejected.
โ†’
India-relevant angle โ€” content must have direct relevance to Indian tech users, companies, or the Indian tech market. Global stories need India context.
โ†’
Actionable and practical โ€” readers should be able to do something with what they’ve read. Pure theory with no practical application is not our style.
โ†’
Properly structured โ€” clear headline, intro that sets up the problem, body with subheadings, conclusion with key takeaways or CTA.

โœ• What We Don’t Publish

โœ•Plagiarised, AI-generated without disclosure, or regurgitated press releases presented as editorial
โœ•Content promoting gambling, adult services, MLM / pyramid schemes, or cryptocurrency pump-and-dump operations
โœ•False health claims, unverified medical advice, or content promoting unsafe products or practices
โœ•Content that defames individuals or organisations without factual basis, or violates Indian IT Act provisions
โœ•Clickbait headlines that misrepresent the content of the article
โœ•Fake reviews, manufactured testimonials, or content that misleads readers about a product’s actual performance
04

Contributor Guidelines

TechReview.trade operates a quality-gated contributor model. Contributors pay a platform fee (โ‚น999โ€“โ‚น14,999) which covers editorial review, formatting, SEO optimisation, and distribution. • โ†’Original, not published elsewhere
  • โ†’Written in English (India English acceptable)

Right to Edit

TechReview.trade reserves the right to edit all contributed content for clarity, style, accuracy, SEO, and editorial fit. Significant structural changes will be shared with the contributor before publication. We will not alter the factual substance or central argument of a piece without the contributor’s agreement.

Bylines & Author Profiles

All published contributors receive a permanent author profile page, byline on all articles, and a verified contributor badge. Contributor profiles include bio, expertise areas, and links to all published work. We do not allow ghost-writing or anonymous bylines for contributed content.

05

Product Review Standards

Our product reviews are grounded in hands-on testing or rigorous independent research. We apply consistent evaluation criteria across comparable products so readers can make fair comparisons.

๐Ÿงช

Hands-On Testing

Where possible, products are physically tested by our review team. Test conditions, duration, and methodology are disclosed in the review.

๐Ÿ’ฐ

India Pricing

All prices are quoted in INR at the time of review. We note where pricing may differ between platforms (Amazon vs Flipkart vs brand website).

๐ŸŽ

Review Units Disclosed

When a review unit was provided by the manufacturer or brand, this is clearly disclosed at the top of the article. It does not influence our verdict.

Our Review Scoring Criteria

Design Build quality, aesthetics, ergonomics, India climate durability
Performance Real-world speed, battery life, thermal management
Value Price-to-performance ratio at Indian market pricing
Availability In-stock status, warranty support in India, service centres

07

AI Content Policy

We have a clear, honest policy on AI-generated content. This is an evolving area and we will update this policy as the landscape changes.

โœ“ Permitted AI Use

  • โ†’Grammar and spell checking
  • โ†’Research assistance and summarisation (with human verification)
  • โ†’Headline and subheading suggestions
  • โ†’SEO optimisation assistance
  • โ†’Image alt text and metadata generation

โœ• Not Permitted

  • โœ•Fully AI-written articles presented as human-authored
  • โœ•AI-generated product reviews with no actual testing
  • โœ•AI-fabricated quotes, statistics, or sources
  • โœ•Bulk AI content generation without editorial oversight
  • โœ•AI-generated imagery presented as real photography

Contributor AI Disclosure: Contributors who use AI tools in writing their articles must disclose this in their submission notes. Articles with undisclosed heavy AI assistance will be rejected. We run AI detection checks on submitted content. If an article is flagged, the contributor will be asked to demonstrate human authorship or the article will be rejected with a full refund of the platform fee.

08

Corrections Policy

We make mistakes. When we do, we correct them promptly, transparently, and without attempting to hide the error. We believe a transparent corrections policy is fundamental to journalistic credibility.

MAJOR
Factual Errors
Corrected within 24 hours. A correction notice is added at the top of the article explaining what was wrong and what the correct information is. The original incorrect text may be struck through and replaced.
MINOR
Typos, Grammatical Errors
Corrected silently within 48 hours. No correction notice required for purely typographical errors that don’t affect meaning.
UPDATE
Outdated Information
When information in a published article becomes outdated (product recalled, company closed, price changed), we add an update notice with the date and new information. The original article remains intact.

To report an error, email hello@techreview.trade with the subject line “Correction Request”, the article URL, and details of the error. We respond to all correction requests within 24 hours.

09

Conflicts of Interest

We take conflicts of interest seriously. Our editorial team members are required to disclose any financial interest, personal relationship, or prior employment that could influence their coverage.

โ†’ Team members do not write reviews of products or services from companies in which they hold financial interests.
โ†’ Contributed articles must disclose if the author is an employee, advisor, or investor of a company mentioned in the article.
โ†’ Advertisers and sponsors cannot request coverage of their products in our independent editorial content โ€” these are managed through separate paid content channels with clear labelling.
โ†’ Free product samples or review units are disclosed. Receiving a review unit does not guarantee a positive review or publication.
โ†’ Press trips and brand events are disclosed in relevant coverage. Free travel does not influence our editorial assessment.
