OnePlus confirms a smartwatch is coming
OnePlus has finally acknowledged that the OnePlus Watch is real and will launch sometime soon. The company posted a teaser on Twitter, suggesting that it’ll soon add a smartwatch to its ecosystem. The announcement closely followed the launch of the OnePlus 8T flagship.
OnePlus’ tweet (seen below) throws back to its previous plans of making a smartwatch. The company first experimented with the idea back in 2016. In fact, OnePlus not only had plans, but actually had a finished product back then. It decided not to go ahead with the launch because it didn’t want to muddle its device lineup by adding a weak product, just because most smartphone companies were jumping on the smartwatch bandwagon at the time.

Now, it seems, OnePlus does see some merit in adding a watch to its growing ecosystem of products. After all, its sister brands Oppo, Realme, and Vivo have already entered the fitness wearables market, and OnePlus is the only one that’s left out.
What to expect from the OnePlus Watch?
