Once upon a time in a small town of India, a teacher MRS. SHARMA who was so passionate for teaching thought each child has a  talent within them. Her classroom transcended the trademarked teaching environment to mimic a dream and possibility university. There was a new boy, Arjun who joined her class one day and he was quite introvert, seldom spoke to anyone. Arjun had comprehension difficulties and got lost in letters and didn’t know what to make out of them. However, Mrs Sharma had some potential in him, in the sense that he was very much passionate about painting as he use to show it with his eyes.

Instead of being fixated on Arjun’s difficulties, Mrs. Sharma made him articulate his ideas through painting After gaining her approval to draw, Arjun aces the change of painting as a means by which to unlock the world of words. Slowly, with her constant encouragement Arjun began to gain his self-confidence back. He started perceiving reading from a different angle or rather a weapon to narrate stories back through his art works. Years passed and Arjun emerged to be one of the famous artists. He used to have a teacher who in spite of all his problems helped him to understand what really interested him. Teacher’s day meant a lot to Arjun this time and so he went back to school carrying a special token for Mrs. Sharma—an artist’s impression showing Mrs. Sharma cramped in the middle of circles painted in all the colours of the rainbow out of which each colour symbolized a student that she motivated.

‘Thank you for believing in me when I couldn’t believe in myself ’ said as he handed her the painting ‘You showed me that learning isn’t just about books; it is about uncovering the self and the potential within it. In tears Mrs. Sharma hold him and said, “Arjun, the best thing I’ve learnt from you is that every child has the ability to paint their own world – I’m blessed to be painted in your palette”. On the occasion of the Teachers’ day, it is pertinent to acknowledge the hardworking teachers who do not lose their faith in their students even in the worst circumstances when we can’t. They don’t just guide but make us learn how to look within whether there is a path to follow or how to find one, whether there is a voice to be heard or how to create one, because there is a story to tell. 🌟📚🎨
